About Yonaguni Island
Yonaguni Island is a birding spot where you can observe 153 species, including Light-vented Bulbul,Eastern Cattle Egret,Eurasian Tree Sparrow,Blue Rock Thrush,Barn Swallow. 与那国島は沖縄県にある離島です。離島の渡りの中継地点で、尚且つ日本の西側の端に位置することから、日本ではあまり見られない野鳥が多く観察できます。舳倉島や飛島と位置が全く違うため、見られる野鳥の種類にも差があり、ヤマショウビン、ハイイロオウチュウ、ナンヨウショウビン、タカサゴモズ、ヤマザキヒタキなどの東南アジアに多く生息する野鳥の渡りや迷いが多いです。 渡りのシーズンは春が3月中旬から4月中旬、秋が9月上旬から10月上旬で、舳倉島や飛島より1ヶ月程度早いことに注意してください。
